【摘要】:A2.5.1Thetestmethodestablishesauniformcantileverbendingfatiguetesttocharacterizeandcomparethefatigueperformanceofdifferentangleddevicedesigns.Thistestmethodmaybeusedtodetermineanangleddevice''sfatiguelifeateitheraspecificoroverarangeofmaximumbendingmomentconditions.Additionally,thistestmethodmaybealternativelyusedtoestimateanangleddevice''sfatiguestrengthforaspecifiednumberoffatiguecycles.A2.5.2Thetestmethodutilizesasimplifiedangleddevicecantileverbendingloadmodelthatmaynotbeexactlyrepresentativeofthein-situloadingconfiguration.Theusershouldnotethatthetestresultsgeneratedbythistestmethodcannotbeusedtodirectlypredictthein-vivoperformanceoftheangleddevicebeingtested.Thedatageneratedfromthistestmethodcanbeusedtoconductrelativecomparisonsofdifferentangleddevicedesigns.A2.5.3Thistestmethodmaynotbeappropriateforalltypesofimplantapplications.Theuseriscautionedtoconsidertheappropriatenessofthemethodinviewofthedevicesbeingtestedandtheirpotentialapplication.A2.5.4Thistestmethodassumesthattheangleddeviceismanufacturedfromamaterialthatexhibitslinear-elasticmaterialbehavior;therefore,thistestmethodisnotapplicablefortestingangleddevicesmadefrommaterialsthatexhibitnonlinearelasticbehavior.A2.5.5Thistestmethodisrestrictedtothetestingofangleddeviceswithinthematerial''slinear-elasticrange;therefore,thistestmethodisnotapplicablefortestingangleddevicesunderconditionsthatwouldapproachorexceedthebendingstrengthoftheangleddevicebeingtested.1.1Thesespecificationsandtestmethodsprovideacomprehensivereferenceforangleddevicesusedinthesurgicalinternalfixationoftheskeletalsystem.Thisstandardestablishesconsistentmethodstoclassifyanddefinethegeometricandperformancecharacteristicsofangleddevices.Thisstandardalsopresentsacatalogofstandardspecificationsthatspecifymaterial,labeling,andhandlingrequirements,andstandardtestmethodsformeasuringperformancerelatedmechanicalcharacteristicsdeterminedtobeimportanttotheinvivoperformanceofangleddevices.1.2Itisnottheintentionofthisstandardtodefinelevelsofperformanceofcase-specificclinicalperformanceforangleddevices,asinsufficientknowledgeisavailabletopredicttheconsequencesoftheiruseinindividualpatientsforspecificactivitiesofdailyliving.Futhermore,thisstandarddoesnotdescribeorspecifyspecificdesignsforangleddevicesusedinthesurgicalinternalfixationoftheskeletalsystem.1.3Thisstandardmaynotbeappropriateforalltypesofangleddevices.Theuseriscautionedtoconsidertheappropriatenessofthisstandardinviewofaparticularangleddeviceanditspotentialapplication.Note18212;Thisstandardisnotintendedtoaddressintramedullaryhipscrewnailsorotherangleddeviceswithoutasideplate.1.4Thisstandardincludesthefollowingtestmethodsusedindeterminingthefollowingangleddevicemechanicalperformancecharacteristics:1.4.1Standardtestmethodforsinglecyclecompressionbendtestingofmetallicangledorthopedicfracturefixationdevices(seeAnnexA1).1.4.2Standardtestmethodfordeterminingthebendingfatiguepropertiesofmetallicangledorthopedicfracturefixationdevices(seeAnnexA2).1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.
